Scientific research is generally viewed as an exclusive and non-creative process and has inhibited potential breakthroughs in science by deterring the innovators of tomorrow. Learn the creative and inclusive process of research through the story of a 15 year old who developed a low-cost, US patent-pending test for the simultaneous early detection and remediation of Alzheimer’s, cancer, heart disease, Parkinson’s, and diabetes.
Hi my name is Arnob Das, and I’m a sophomore at Jesuit High School. For the past four years, I have conducted scientific research in the fields of medicine and pure chemistry. Some of my inventions include more cost-effective and efficient bio-fuel cells, more biocompatible medical implant materials, and a provisionally patented low-cost detection for cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and diabetes. For my research, I have been fortunate to have received recognition in international and national science fairs, have had the opportunity to meet President Obama at the White House, and have a minor planet named after me by MIT-Lincoln Laboratory. I also love playing the piano and learning about music, and I help run a non-profit initiative in rural orphanages in Bangladesh, educating underprivileged kids in science and math.
